ECO MODE / START-STOP

Reduce consumption – increase cost-effectiveness: With eco mode and start-stop function

Fuel consumption is a crucial consideration when it comes to making crane operation as cost-effective as possible. That is why Tadano cranes make use of their maximum efficiency to take full advantage of fuel, enabling you to maximize the cost-effectiveness of your operations. This is in part thanks to two intelligent control systems that significantly reduce your Tadano crane’s fuel consumption and, as a result, its CO2 emissions as well.

Saving with eco mode

In eco mode, the crane’s engine always outputs the exact amount of power that the crane actually needs for lifting at any one time. More specifically, the control software controls the required engine speed and keeps it within the ideal range fully automatically without the crane operator having to depress the accelerator pedal. In other words, eco mode not only maximizes fuel efficiency and lowers CO2 emissions, but also makes crane operation more convenient and comfortable while reducing noise emissions to a minimum.

Tadano start-stop function: Stops your engine, but not your control system

The start-stop function makes it possible to manually shut down the engine with a button in the cab during superstructure operation in order to avoid idling. This can be used to reduce both fuel consumption and emissions.

On top of that, the Tadano start-stop function provides a crucial advantage in comparison to conventional engine shutdowns: It leaves the crane control system active while the engine is off, meaning that the software does not have to go through time-consuming booting when restarting. The result? Crane operation can be resumed immediately.

The start-stop function also reduces the crane’s operating hours, extending the time between service intervals as a result. Moreover, this reduction in operating hours increases your machine’s resale value. It’s crystal clear: At Tadano, cost-effectiveness and environmental protection are not in conflict with each other, but go hand in hand instead.
